POONCH
Garhi Battalion under the aegis of Poonch Brigade conducted two months of *Embroidery and Computer Course at Degwar Terwan Village*. The focus of the course was to impart basic skills to the youth and women of border areas to empower them to attain self sustenance and earn living for themselves. On 14 Dec 2022, during closing ceremony *Brigade Commander Poonch Bde distributed Certificates to 38 Women/ Girls and 7 boys on successful completion of the course. Twenty Sewing Machines were also distributed to girls/ women of the border Village*.The ceremony was attended by locals incl Sarpanchs, Ward members, students and media personnels.
Cdr interacted with all the notables of Bagiyaldhara and Degwar Terwan village and discussed about the development of area, various issues/problems of the villagers and also aspects of security in the region.
The initiative was appreciated by the local populace, thereby increasing the trust and bonhomie amongst Indian Army and AWAM.
