Today on 26, November, 2022 at 1100 hours “Samvidhan Divas” & Preamble reading ceremonies followed by a pledge to the fundamental duties were held at JKAP 6th Bn. Behra, Mendhar as well as at all the coys of this unit located at Surankote, Poonch, Harni, Kaller & Post office Poonch.
Sh. Suram Singh, (JKPS-SSP), Commandant JKAP 6th BN alongwith Adjutant Sh. Farooq Ahmad SP & other officers attended the function and delivered key lecture to the participated officers/officials on this occasion.
Preamble was read out by the participants on the occasion. Beauty of features of constitution as well as preamble were discussed in simple language. Apart of this the manpower was directed regarding enforcement of law & order to maintain safety & security of both life and property while upholding the spirit of constitution.
The Commandant stated that our constitution is the best of the laws of other nations. The constitution speaks peace, Tranquility, Harmony and secularism. The constitution guarantees liberty, equality & justice. It talks about fundamental freedoms of the people, who do not know about freedom since about 02 hundred years of our history before 1947.
Police being law implementing agency should know from where the laws are coming from. All the laws are like rivers flowing from constitutional glacier. Therefore, we must go back to constitution and understand why the laws were framed in the way they have been framed for implementing the same effectively.
On the occasion, the Commandant stated that as per the provision of constitution no person can be deprived of his/her life except according to the procedure established in the law. While dealing with the rights of the individuals, Police must keep in mind that the constitution has placed a great responsibility on all of us to protect the rights and to ensure that the provisions of the constitution are being followed strictly. At the end, Sh. Suram Singh, JKPS-SSP, Commandant JKAP 6th Bn. finished the addressal with the vote of thanks.
