Dharmari, Reasi (30 Nov 2022). Indian Army organised Swarnim Vijay Varsh Kabaddi Tournament at Dharmari under Project Sadhbhavana in order to promote sporting culture and revive interest of youth in the field of sports.
Total of sixteen teams from the area of Sawalakat, Judda, Kanthan, Dhanour, Thuroo, Matlot and Dharmariparticipated in the event. During the three days of conduct, for initial two days, league matches including semi-final match were conducted on knock out basis with final match conducted on 30 Nov 2022 between Higher Secondary School Juda and Government Degree College Bagga, in which Higher Secondary School Juda won and lifted up the Winners Trophy.
The event brought people of diverse backgrounds, religions and interest together, especially the youth from the remote areas.
The tournament culminated with felicitation of Winner, Runners Up & Second Runner Up team by DDC Member and village appointments. In addition, individual prizes to include Best Player, Best Raider & Best Catcher etc were also distributed. The Kabaddi tournament was a crowd puller and not only rekindled an enthusiasm among youth from the remote areas towards sports but also strengthened the connect with men in uniform.
