KULGAM: 05December 2022:
Police in collaboration with civil society and local media organized an anti-drug awareness rally under the banner of ‘Prevention of Drug Addiction’ in Kulgam.
The awareness rally was flagged off by SSP Kulgam Dr. G.V Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS along with DySP Hqrs Kulgam, SHO PS Kulgam & other officers of civil administration and Police also witnessed the rally. The rally was attended by students/teaching & non-teaching staff of different schools of Kulgam, members of media fraternity, Municipal Committee Members, youth and other respectables of the Kulgam district. The rally passed through Main Market Kulgam and culminated at Ganta Ghar Kulgam.
On the occasion, SSP Kulgam appealed the general public to join hands with administration and Police in curbing the abuse of drugs & related substances to eliminate this social evil from society. Students/staff members were holding banners and placards in their hands with messages against substance abuse and raised slogans against the social evil and pledged to join their hands to eradicate this menace from the society.
The participants appreciated the role of Police for conducting such awareness programmes and building a bridge of trust between police and the youth.
