AKHNOOR
As part of Inter Panchayat Zonal Level Competitions being held under the ages of ‘Youth Services and Sports Cup 2022’ for boys between 18 to 35 years, which were started on 06.12.2022 concluded successfully in Zone Akhnoor here at GHS Devipur.
In the YSS Cup, the competitions of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Cricket were conducted among the 23 Panchayat Halqas of Zone Akhnoor. In the competitions a total of more than 400 participants of various Panchayat Halqas of Zone Akhnoor participated with zeas and zeal. In the Kabaddi competitions, Panchayat-Bhalwal Brahmana emerged winner and Panchayat-Kotli Tanda remained runners up. While in Volleyball competitions, Panchayat-Garkhal emerged winner and Panchayat-Ambaran became runner up.
On the final award ceremony of the YSS Cup, the Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa-Devipur Sh Ganesh Dass was the chief guest and Headmaster GHS Devipur was the guest of honour , who gave away the trophies among the Winners and Runners up teams.
The competitions were played under the chairmanship of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu Sh Sukhdev Raj Sharma and overall supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer, Akhnoor Sh Tarsem Singh.
Prominent among the others were Sh Ramesh Chander, Sh Ashnak Raj Sharma, Sh Ashok Kumar, Smt. Darshana Devi, Smt. Indu Bharti, Sh Jagdev Singh, Smt Sujata Kumari,Sh Jagdish Raj, Sh Rajesh Kumar, Sh Vikram Jamwal, Sh Rinku Kumar, Sh Vijay Tangra, Sh Rahul Dev Singh, Sh Shambu Dutt and Sh Suram Singh. Later the chief guest lauded the officials of YS&S Dept. for the successful conduct of the YSS Cup.
