SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli IPS in a statement said that Police achieved a big success by arresting a notorious criminal ,drug peddler and absconder in a number of non bailable cases and recovered narcotic substance from his possession .
A police Party of P/s Bagh-eBahu under the supervision of DYSP Zaheer Abbas Jafri SDPO city east jammu and led by Insp Sikander Singh assisted by PSI Wasim Bhatti established a special naka near bahufort . During checking of
Vehicle Truck bearing registration no JK21D/3786 coming from Narwal towards Sidhra stopped for checking. Upon checking of the said truck recovered 1.5 Kg Poppy Straw. During questioning driver revealed his name and address as Fareed Ali S/O Jamat Ali R/ O Ragoora Jammu and co-driver revealed his name and addres as Mushtaq Ali S/O Irshad Ali R/O A/P Gujjar Nagar Jammu.
In this regard a case FIR No. 120/2022 U/S 8/15/29 NDPS Act stands registered and investigation is going on .
It is pertinent to mention here that accused namely Fareed Ahmed is a notrous criminal and already involved in following cases:- 1. FIR NO. 18/2013 U/S 336/323/14 IPC
- FIR NO. 92/2020 U/S 8/20/21/22/29 NDPS ACT AND 353/332 IPC
- FIR NO. 40/2022 U/S 8/21/29 NDPS ACT & 307/353/332/336/147/148/149/224/225 IPC
- FIR NO. 108/2022 U/S 452/323/148/380 IPC
