JAMMU
The year 2022 weird things but the Jammu and Kashmir in Jammu segment did a fabulous job since the battle on many fronts. The contagion had put the humanity under the screws and the Police had to fight the invisible menacing enemy, make the people safe, slog it out with the militants trying their best to create trouble in the hinterland, form a powerful barricade against the drug movers and shakers, get hold of the peddlers floating about, aware the youth of the havoc creating destructions the drugs cause, rescue people from the natural calamities and of course a keep the vigilance with eyes popped out 24×7. With a splendid array of characters like the indefatigable IG Jammu Zone ADGP Mukesh Singh (IPS) resolute and granite willed DIG Jammu -Samba -Kathua Range the methodical wise head and the bullet straight fighter SSP Jammu Chandan Kohali ( IPS) and the men always willing to get on with the job at hand the year had to be resounding one. Needless to mention it was!
Jammu and Kashmir Jammu Police segment has performed awesomely well on all the fronts they were involved that has gone by and has got embedded in the pages of the history. It was not a quiet year all the way because the Police had to be on the look out to curb many things that unfolded one after the other at a rapid rate and the start of the last year was a breathtaking one a virus from Wuhan downloaded itself and brought the humanity to its knees.
Checking Militancy:
Though overall the situation remained calm and peaceful yet some mad heads did make their presence felt every now and then. But they were not allowed to make any headway. The reason was great vigilance in the hinterland. Those who tried to spring out their heads were packed off behind bars for further questioning and inputs.
Recovery of arms and ammunition:
Great success was met in this sphere too and this was all due to some great information network which has been formed by Jammu Police. Hideouts were busted and caches also confiscated. One can safely say that Jammu remained peaceful as the militant activity tapered off:
Drug trail:
Yes drug flow was enormous but the cartels were duly intercepted.15 KG Heroin recovery is not a joke. jammu Police is continuously working to make sure that drugs do not get the main land because they are seriously harming the youth and destroying their future. SSP Chandan Kohali has vowed that he will keep piling pressure so that Jammu becomes drug free. So far he has made a great progress in this regard. Along with this general awareness is being spread amongst the youth so that they do not get into the deadly addiction syndrome.
Policing Front:
Crime and disorder was prevented. The officers and the men recognized always that the power of the police to fulfill their functions and duties is dependent on public approval of their existence. They gave respect and approval of the public means also the securing of the willing co-operation of the public in the task of securing observance of laws.
In short jammu Police demonstrated absolutely impartial service to law, in complete independence of policy, and without regard to the justice or injustice of the substance of individual laws, by ready offering of individual service and friendship to all members of the public without regard to their wealth or social standing, The endeavor of the Police was to maintain at all times a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and that the public are the police, the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence. A great job done indeed but more remains to be done!
