Traffic awareness camp cum Road safety awareness programme held at Anantnag

Vehicle owners and others were on Saturday apprised of the importance of road safety measures and rules, as part of the Road Safety Programme being observed here at Harnag Railway Station.

Assistant Regional Transport Officer Anantnag Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo advised the vehicle owners to avoid overspeeding; to wear helmets/seat belts; to avoid alcohol consumption; to keep the phone off while driving; and to not indulge in drunk driving, overloading, etc.

Besides bus, truck, autorickshaw, Tempo and car drivers and two-wheeler riders, members of the public attended the programme.

Later fitness camp for commercial vehicles was conducted in which more than 200 vehicles were inspected for issuance of fitness certificate.
