Ex Havaldar Bachittar Singh of Ikhani(Kotla) cremated with Millitary honours

Three time war warrior(1962,1965,1971) and National level veteran sports man(basketball) died today at the age of 84 years due to ailments at his home Ikhani kotla Tehsil Pouni Distt Reasi.
Goverdhan Singh Jamwal Maj General(Rtd) who was the commanding officer of 9JAK at khemkaran((Pb) in 1965 war where Bachittar served as soldier extended condolences to the family members of Ex. Army personnel.
Sanjeev Kumar Sharma National Awardee Teacher serving at Ikhani informed Bachittar Singh was recruited in Jammu & Kashmir Rifles in 1960 and after rendering 22 years of exemplary service retired in 1982.
In army Bachittar was a national level player of cross-country and basketball who has brought many laurels for his 9th JAK Rifles.Through his constant social work after retirement he managed to establish schools/ Anganwadis and other developmental works in his vicinity of Ikhani/Gool.he was survived by his wife,four sons,two daughters and grandchildren added Sharma.
His funeral was attended by huge gathering from all walks of life.
An Army squad of 63 RR presented wreaths along with Salute to his mortal remains as last tribute to war veteran. Prominent among who attended cremation include Army men of 63 RR, Vijay Kumar Sarpanch Pora Kotla, Bhagwan singh Sarpanch Sangar, Paul Chand Ex Sarpanch, Shamsher Singh mandal Pardhan Ransoo/Shivkhodi, Master kartar Singh, Kartar Singh, Bal Krishan kisan morcha mandal pardhan Shiv khori,Sat pal Singh city pardhan Ransoo BJP JKESL President Tehsil Pouni, all relatives and friends.
