In order to eradicate the menace of drugs /abuse of substances, Kishtwar Police has proactively taken action against drugs paddlers. Today 02 notorious drug Peddler namely Gohar Nabi S/o Gh Nabi Waza R/o Wasserkund Kishtwar & Mushtaq Ahmed S/o Ghulam Ali R/o Nowapachi Marwah have been apprehended by a team of PS Kishtwar along with consignment of contrabands.
While divulging the details, SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS, informed that Police party led by SHO P/S Kishtwar Insp Abid Bukhari under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kishtwar Sh. Ashish Gupta laid the naka at welcome gate of Malipath. During naka checking psychotropic substance i.e. 1416 capsules and tablets were recovered from the possession of both the accused persons who were arrested on spot.
In this regard FIR No.14/2023 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Kishtwar and further investigation has been taken up.
The interrogation of accuseds reveals that besides self-consumption they want to sell to youths of District Kishtwar, so as to achieve monitory gains.
It is assured by the SSP Kishtwar that during investigation the backward & forward linkages related to drug peddling shallbe extensively dealt so as to book the syndicates under the prevention and substantives laws.
