Donations at shrines will no longer be used for salaries of employees: Waqf Chairperson Dr Darakhshan Andrabi

Chairperson Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi on Sunday said that the donations by people at the shrines will no longer be used for salaries of Waqf employees.

Talking to The System Files (TSF) on the sidelines of the function at Tagore hall Srinagar, Andrabi said that the donations being given by the people at shrines will only be used for the development of the shrines. “For now onwards, we will not use the donations (Nazr-o-Niyaz) at shrines for the salaries of the employees,” she said when asked about the meagre salaries of the employees.

She said that the employees should focus on how the assets of Waqf will generate more revenue.

Andrabi further stated that the white paper promised by her will be made public soon.

She also said that the Waqf day will also be celebrated soon that way conclave on 100th edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann ki baat’ was.
