50 NOTORIOUS BOVINE SMUGGLERS ARRESTED IN THREE AND HALF MONTHS

Samba, May 04 : Police has arrested three (03) bovine smugglers, foiled three separate bovine smuggling attempts , rescued 23 bovine animals and seized three (03) vehicles used for smuggling.

The arrested smugglers have been identified as Arif Hussain s/o Gul Mohd. r/o Qazigund Anantnag,  Mohd Sharief  s/o Noor Din r/o Qazigund, Anantnag and Mohd. Irfan s/o Mohd Ashraf r/o Rajinder Pura, Vijaypur. In this regard, three FIRs under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Samba, Police Station Ghagwal & Police Station Bari-Brahmana and investigation is in progress.

The smuggling attempts were made by the bovine smugglers by driving vehicles rashly and in violent manner especially while passing through naka points, but the brave Police officials who remain alert round-the-clock foiled all the three smuggling attempts, arrested three bovine smugglers and rescued twenty three bovine animals. 

23 bovines were rescued by a police team comprising of SHO PS Samba Rajeshwar Singh, SHO PS Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan and SHO PS Bari-Brahmana Sunil Sharma under the supervision of DySP Garu Ram and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.

Total Fifty (50) notorious bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in three and half months, forty seven (47) FIRs have been registered, thirty eight (38) vehicles used for bovine smuggling seized and four hundred ninety (490) bovine animals have been rescued, said Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh.
