Srinagar,11-My, : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Bandipora and recovered contraband substances recovered from his possession.
Acting on a specific information, Bandipora Police arrested a drug peddler along with 2.800 Kgs of Charas powder like contraband substance at Malangam Aloosa area.
The accused has been identified as Abdul Satar Seer resident of Malangam Aloosa Bandipora.
Accordingly, police has taken Cognizance under the relevant sections of NDPS Act in (PP Aloosa) PS Bandipora.
“Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood.
Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace,” police said.
Meanwhile, locals of the area have appreciated SSP Bandipora for acting strict against those involved in drugs and have assured full support to police in eradicating the menace of drugs.
