Continuing its #War On Drugs drive to contain the spread of Narcotics Drugs & Psychotropic Substances within the district, Kathua Police recovered approx. 10 grams of Heroin like narcotics and cash amount of Rs. 3,70,000/- in the jurisdictional area of PS Lakhanpur, 01 drug peddler arrested & seized the narcotics, cash recovered as well involved vehicle(Car)on spot.
On 08.06.2023 a Police team of PS Lakhanpur led by PSI Parshotam Singh under the supervision of DySP DAR Kathua Sh. Subash Chander & SHO P/S Lakhanpur Insp. Vijay Kotwal during Patrolling/checking in its jurisdictional area at Keerian Gandiyal noticed one vehicle(Car) bearing Reg. No. CH01CP-4963 being driven by a person namely Somanjeet Singh S/o Mukhtiyar Singh R/o Balimanjpur Tehsil and District Amritsar Punjab who was alongwith his accomplice namely Kaka S/o Sham Din @shaoo R/o Sarore Adda Bari Brahmana district Samba enrouted from Punjab towards Kathua via Keerian Gandiyal were signalled to stop for checking.On seeing police party accused person namely Kaka S/o Sham Din @Sahoo managed to fled away from the spot whereas other accused person namely Somanjeet Singh S/o Mukhtiyar Singh R/o Balmanjpur Amritsar got arrested on spot who was doing illegal trade of Heroin contraband like substance. During checking approx. 10 grams of Heroin like narcotics alongwith cash amount of Rs. 3,70,000/- was recovered from his possession.Thereafter all the recovered narcotics/ cash amount alongwith vehicle were seized and one person was arrested. On this an instant case vide FIR No. 67/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and further investigation is underway.
