District Police Reasi observed Plantation Drive in all Police establishments under βMeri Maati- Mera Desh, Mitti Ko Naman, Veeron Ka Vandanβ campaign across the District in which SDPOs/ SHOs/ IC PPs and police personnel of District Police participated.
The main function was held at DPO Reasi where Plantation drive was started by Sh. Mohd Suleman Choudhary IPS DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range alongwith Sh. Amit Gupta-JKPS, SSP Reasi.
Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Mohd Suleman Choudhary IPS DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range said that this function across the country is being held to observe “Meri Maati- Mera Desh” campaign wherein we take the pledge to play my part in building a developed India, to remove any trace of colonial mindset, to strive for the unity and solidarity of the country, to fulfill my duties and responsibilities towards my nation, to honor the sacrifice of our countryβs Brave Hearts and devote myself to Nationsβ defense and progress.
Similarly, all SDPOs/ SHOs & IC PPs also conducted Plantation drive at all sub divisions/ police stations & police posts in which about two thousand saplings of various varieties have been planted in and around the premises of Police establishments by the Police Officers/Officials .
While speaking on the eve, SSP Reasi emphasized the importance of plantation for the community and this initiative will go a long way in inculcating environment conservation. He further added that these trees are the investment for the future generation and shall provide fruits, shelters as well as clean air to breathe by increasing green cover. Forests are quickly diminishing from the surface of earth on the name of development which is a main cause of global warming, climate change, flood drought etc. In order to preserve the nature, we have to plant more and more trees to keep our planet safe and green.
