With a spirited show of patriotism and festive fervor GDC Batote under the banner of “Meri Maati Mera Desh” celebrated 77h Independence Day on 15August, 2023. The main highlight of the event was the flag hoisting ceremony, which was graciously hosted by the esteemed Principal of the college, Prof. Nirlape Kour. Students, faculty, and staff gathered at the college ground to mark this important occasion. The ceremony commenced with the flag hoisting along with the rendition of the national anthem, evoking a sense of unity and pride among the attendees. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as everyone reflected upon the sacrifices made by freedom fighters that paved the way for India’s independence.
Prof. Nirlape Kour, in her address, emphasized the significance of the day and urged everyone to remember the values of freedom, unity, and diversity that the nation stands for. She applauded the efforts of the students and staff in organizing the event, and also recognized the college’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. Kumar and Rakesh Kumar also shared their valuable ideas on the occasion.
The event featured various cultural performances by the students, showcasing the rich heritage and diversity of India. A series of patriotic songs, dance performances, and speeches resonated with the theme of patriotism and unity. As the event concluded, the anchor of the programme Rohan Kumar expressed his gratitude to everyone present and encouraged them to
cary the spirit of independence forward in their lives.
