In a heartwarming example of how education can transform lives, Zakir Latief Malik, a determined and ambitious student from the remote village of Shagan in the Ramban district of Jammu & Kashmir, is breaking barriers and achieving his dreams with the support of the Indian Army’s Jammu & Kashmir Special Scholarship Scheme under Operation Sadbhavana.
Coming from a humble background, Zakir faced numerous financial challenges in pursuing his dream of higher education, particularly in the field of healthcare. His aspiration to become a pharmacist and contribute to the well-being of society was overshadowed by the lack of resources. However, fate had a different plan for Zakir.
The Indian Army initiated the Jammu & Kashmir Special Scholarship Scheme as part of Operation Sadbhavana, with the goal of providing educational opportunities to underprivileged yet dedicated students like Zakir Latief Malik. This program aimed to bridge the gap between privileged and underprivileged students by offering scholarships and financial aid to those who exhibited exceptional potential and dedication.
Zakir's exceptional academic record and unwavering determination drew the attention of the Indian Army. Recognizing his potential, the Indian Army supported Zakir by providing him with a scholarship to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Radiology at Mewar University, Gangrar, Chhitorgarh (Rajasthan). This opportunity was a realization of Zakir's dreams, filling him with immense joy and hope.
With the support of the Indian Army's initiative, Zakir embarked on his educational journey at Mewar University, where state-of-the-art laboratories, experienced faculty, and a nurturing environment foster growth and learning. Zakir's dedication to his studies has been remarkable, as he eagerly absorbs the knowledge that will shape his future career in healthcare.
