UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 8: The District Social Welfare Department joined hands with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) and NHPC, as part of their CSR initiative, to organize an assessment cum awareness camp at Subhash Stadium Udhampur.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia was the chief guest and inaugurated the camp.
At the outset, District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta said that the primary objective of the camp was to assess Persons with Disabilities from underprivileged backgrounds, to provide them free prosthetic aids, and raising awareness about various departmental schemes, including Pension, Scholarship, Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS), and more.
She further disclosed that this year the department would organise 5 assessment camps in the blocks of Chenani, Ramnagar, Dudu, and Pancheri, from September 8, 2023, to September 13, 2023, to ensure that government social welfare schemes reach deserving individuals at their doorsteps.
