Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Today one notorious drug peddler namely Mohd Imtiaz @Gattu S/O Jamal Din R/O. Loran A/Mohalla Sarain ,Ward No. 08 Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch has been Lodged by District Police Poonch in District Jail Poonch by the order of Divisional Commissioner Jammu( Competent Authority). Various FIRs were already registered against him in Police Station Poonch and Police station Surankote under NDPS Act. Moreover, the said person could not bother to mend his ways. The said drug peddler was posing serious threats to the health and welfare of the people especially youth by way of his continued indulgence in drug trafficking . His activities were detrimental for the peace and tranquility of the area . so dealing strictly, his Dossier was prepared by District Police Poonch and sent to Divisional commissioner Jammu ( Competent Authority) and subsequently his detention warrant under PIT NDPS Act 1988 was issued against him by Divisional Commissioner Jammu.
Finally, today in compliance to the order by Divisional Commissioner Jammu under Prevention of Illicit Traffic In Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1988 (PITNDPS Act), detention warrant was executed by PS Poonch and the said drug peddler has been shifted to District Jail Poonch after completion of all legal formalities.
