New Delhi, April 29 — PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Ministers of all states to ensure the safety of Kashmiri students across the country following distress calls triggered by unrest after the Pahalgam terrorist attack. In a social media post, Mufti highlighted that some educational institutions have postponed exams and advised students to return home, while others have not. She also demanded firm action against those inciting communal hatred online.

J&K Students Association Convenor Nasir Khuehami confirmed that Shah is personally monitoring the situation and has directed state authorities to take immediate action against incidents of harassment. A recent case involved a mess worker at Jamia Millia Islamia allegedly assaulting a Kashmiri woman student, for which the accused has been detained.
