Residential House Allegedly Acquired Through Drug Trafficking Proceeds Attached Under NDPS Act

DODA: In a major action against drug trafficking and its financial network, Doda Police has attached a residential property worth approximately ₹52 lakh under the provisions of Chapter VA of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
The action has been taken in connection with FIR No. 93/2026 of Police Station Doda, registered under Sections 8/21/22/29/25/27A/20 of the NDPS Act. According to police, the investigation led to the recovery of substantial quantities of narcotic substances, cash proceeds and other incriminating material, indicating the involvement of the accused persons in illicit drug trafficking activities.
The investigation was conducted by the Station House Officer of Police Station Doda under the close supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters, Doda. During the course of a detailed financial investigation, police identified a double-storeyed residential house with a basement situated at Sadiqabad, Doda, belonging to Zareena Begum, wife of Late Ghulam Ali.
Investigators alleged that the property had been acquired through proceeds generated from illegal narcotics trade. The property has been assessed at approximately ₹51.91 lakh and has been attached under the provisions of the NDPS Act pending further proceedings before the Competent Authority.
Police stated that the attachment was carried out after establishing a clear nexus between the property and proceeds derived from drug trafficking. The accused persons named in the case are facing legal proceedings under the NDPS Act.
Doda Police further said that efforts are underway to identify and attach any additional assets found to have been acquired through illicit means.
Reiterating its zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking, Doda Police said it remains committed to taking stringent action not only against those involved in the narcotics trade but also against the assets and financial infrastructure supporting such illegal activities.
The police have appealed to the public to continue sharing information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse to strengthen collective efforts towards building a drug-free society.
