Acting tough against the bovine smugglers and to curb the bovine smuggling menace in Subdivision Nagrota Jammu Police has rescued 15 bovine animals i.e 11 bovine animals while on naka duty at Ban, Toll Plaza and 04 bovine animals at naka checking at Naka Point Nadal area in the jurisdiction of PS Nagrota and PP Manwal respectively.
A police team of PS Nagrota under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar and led by SHO PS Nagrota Inspr Vishav Partap Singh while on naka duty at Naka duty at Ban, Toll Plaza rounded up a suspect who was transporting 11 bovine animals from a Vehicle bearing Registration No JK02DB-1712.
In this regard Case, FIR No. 416/2022 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA Act 50/52/54/56 Transport of animals rule got registered at PS Nagrota and accused got arrested.
Similarly, in a massive drive against bovine smuggling, Jammu Police has rescued 04 bovine animals during naka checking at Naka Point Nadal, in the area under the jurisdiction of PP Manwal. Also, a vehicle bearing Registration No. JK02BA-7321 has been seized which was on its way from Samba towards Udhampur.
In this regard, cognizance has been taken by PP Manwal and vehicle got seized.
The overall recoveries in the above case were made by SHO PS Jhajjar Kotli Inspr Samson Bhatti assisted by I/C PP Manwal PSI Sanjeev Sharma..
Further investigation of the case is going on.
District Police Jammu is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb the bovine smuggling menace. District Police Jammu is seeking support from the people to share information about bovine smuggling with police for timely intervention for the cause.
