MAN CONVICTED FOR THE OFFENCE PUNISHABLE U/S 354 IPC AND 8 POCSO ACT AND SENTENCED TO UNDERGO RIGOROUS PUNISHMENT FOR TWO YEARS U/S 354 IPC AND THREE YEARS U/S 8 OF POCSO ACT.
Doda Police said that accused namely Yasir Hussain son of Lal Din resident of Lass, Saroor, Tehsil Drabshalla, District Kishtwar for his involvement in case FIR No. 31/2021 u/s 376/511 IPC and 08 POCSO Act of Women PS Doda. The case was registered on 26.06.2021 on a written complaint against the accused at Women PS Doda for his involvement in a rape case and the investigation of the case was entrusted to SI Ghulam Nabi of Women PS Doda. The investigating officer conducted the investigation of the case under the overall supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Doda, Sh. Jaswant Singh and ultimately after completion its investigation in respect of all aspects, challaned in the Court of law for judicial determination. The Court vide order dated 26.12.2022, convicted the accused for offence punishable under section 354 IPC and 08 POCSO Act and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of two years and to pay fine of Rs, 5000/- under section 354 IPC and in default of payment of fine to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of three months and under section 08 of POCSO Act, 2012 the convict is sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of three years and to pay fine of Rs, 5000/- and in default of payment of fine to undergo further rigorous punishment for a period of three months. Both the punishment shall run concurrently.
