Cracking down heavily on Narcotics Smuggling as well as to neutralise the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua Police under the guidance of SSP Kathua Shivdeep Singh Jamwal -JKPS today recovered/seized approx. 10 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics near Basanterpul Dhar Road, 01 drug peddler arrested alongwith seized 01 vehicle(Bolero) as well as narcotics on spot.
On 01.02.2023 a Police team led by SI Sanjeet Singh IC PP Ramkot under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Arvind Kumar- JKPS during special Naka/checking duty in the jurisdictional area of PP Ramkot at Basanterpul Dhar Road intercepted one suspicious vehicle (Bolero) bearing Reg. No. JK08H-6162 which was being driven by a person namely Farooq Ahmed S/o Ghulam Mohiuddin R/o Malhar A/P Dadwara Tehsil Billawar District Kathua who is serving as a SgCt (Selection Grade Constable) in J&K Armed Police 12th Battalion. On thorough checking approx. 10 grams of Heroin(Chitta) like narcotics was recovered from his illegal possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotics alongwith 01 vehicle(Bolero) was seized and one person was arrested. On this an instant case vide FIR No. 11/2023 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Billawar and further investigation is underway.
