Jadh Village of Akhnoor Subdivision is famous for the malpractices illicit liquor since years.
Even the involvement of elected representatives of the government bodies came into light from the area of Sohal, Pangairi, Jadh etc in past couple of years those who were involved in illicit Liquor (Desi) Preparations in their homes.
Akhnoor Police under the Supervision of SDPO Mohan Lal is always alert & keeping keen eye on the People indulged in the Malpractices.
In an act of alertness and prompt action, dedicated police teams of PS Akhnoor while on patroling duty received the information regarding a lady selling illicit liquor near Jadh Jourian area under the jurisdiction of PS Akhnoor.
On this special police teams of PS Akhnoor led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma assisted by SHO PS Akhnoor Inspr Zaheer Mushtaq and I/C PP Jourian PSI Karnail Singh did strenuous efforts and finally raided at the suspected place and rounded up one lady who was selling and preparing illicit liquor. During search, 40 litres of illicit liquor got recovered and 300 litres of lahan was destroyed on the spot. The accused lady was later identified as :- Joginder Kour W/o Chain Singh R/o Jadh Teh Jourian District Jammu.
In this regard a case FIR No 173/2023 U/s 48-a 48-e 48-f Excise Act got registered at PS Akhnoor and accused got arrested.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
